A downloadable game

An island was discovered just off the coast of Canada. Rich in deposits of gold, large scale mining operations were set up there, but these quickly fell apart. As they dug too deep, a great evil was released, along with a toxic gas, which turned the denizens of the island into disgusting mutated hawk monsters. Now it's your job to clear out the island and destroy the apex hawk.

Hawk Island is a short Metroidvania adventure originally created for the "Who Killed HawkZombie?" Gamejam, and dedicated to the streamer, HawkZombie.

The game supports both Keyboard and Controller, but Keyboard is heavily recommended.
Note: This game is pretty damn hard, so uh, be prepared for that.

  • Explore 4 Unique areas
  • Fight disgusting Hawk monsters
  • Collect Trinkets to aid you on your journey
  • Several difficulty modes
  • Grappling Hook
  • A body pillow from the hit (fictional) anime show "The Subby Dubby Devil"

This was tough as HELL when I played it, but I can't wait to try again.

Nice game. Reminds me a bit of ROTN which is one of the games closest to my heart. A bit on the tough side though. I found the jumping vine mechanic to be a bit frustrating, however.

alwas hate it when the fat fuck groundpounds, stunning me so that the enemy can run over me. while one of the buolders also hits me from above

a post-jam update will be coming soon, and we plan on restricting stun mechanic of the fat fuck’s ground pound to harder difficulties as part of trying to make the standard difficulty less brutal.

oh man so high quality! Every little detail is just great. BRUTALLY difficult though, I kinda gave up near the start of biome 2. Just died over and over and over. So only feedback is to make it a bit easier, would’ve loved to see the rest

We’ll likely put out a Post-Jam version once the Jam’s rating period is over, with some nerfs and quality of life additions (nerfs will probably only apply to Hawk and Fledgling difficulties) which should make the game easier. Until then, I say keep at it, you’ll get it eventually! :)

you made it to biome 2? :O

cant make it past the first bench :O

lol I got to like the first room. Ya it’s not an exaggeration to say it’s brutal
